Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a motivated, creative, problem solver for our Embedded Firmware Engineer opening. This position will be located in our Burnaby, BC office.

Embedded Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Development specifications.
  
• Design firmware.
  
• Implement firmware designs.
  
• Analyze test plans and test results.
  
• Development designs and test documentation.
  
• Review data sheets and instruction manuals.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  
• Minimum 8 years experience in embedded systems firmware development including:
  
  real-time firmware design
  
  C and assembly languages
• Strong writing, documentation and speaking skills
  
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  
• Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Digital and analog circuitry
  
• Electric utility telecommunications
  
• Industrial controls
  
• Project management
